Jean-François is founding Partner of Amplitude Ventures with more than $200M under management. The fund is a spinoff of the healthcare fund at the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), where Jean-François was director from 2001 to 2011, then partner from 2011 to 2018. Investor and entrepreneur, Jean-François is an associate at Creative Destruction Lab (CDL), a non-profit organization that delivers an objectives-based program for massively scalable, seed-stage, science- and technology-based companies. CDL’s mission is to accelerate the commercialization of science for the betterment of humankind. He is also involved in multiple boards.

Prior to joining BDC, Jean-François was an Investment Manager at Caisse de Dépôt et de Placements du Québec (CDPQ) and Chief Executive Officer of Clinipar, a firm providing services in regulatory affairs and contract clinical research, as well as training of pharmaceutical sales staff. He also founded JINPAR Laboratories, a pharma company specialized in the development and the commercialization of diagnostic tests for the medical home-testing market. Jean-François holds a Master in Biomedical Sciences from the Université de Montréal, and an MBA from HEC.
